Bánh Mì with Maple Sriracha Sauce
POSTED BY Pink Ribbon Cooking / March 21, 2013
Bánh Mì is a classic Vietnamese sandwich that merges the cultures of France and Vietnam, and now America. We are representing a healthy version of the sandwich by replacing the pate with avocado, allowing us the rich and creamy texture, while taking in good sources of fat and phytonutrients.
The recipe serves 8 because it is difficult to roast a very small piece of meat. If you choose to make this for only 4 servings, substitute the roast pork for pork chops and cook them on the grill just the same, making sure to remove the bones. The flavor of the grilled pork will be perfect against the sweet spicy flavors of the maple sriracha sauce!
What if you feel the same as Jules (Samuel Jackson) in Pulp Fiction and you “Just don’t dig on swine.” Not to worry, simply substitute the pork for cold pressed tofu, roasted or grilled mushrooms, grilled fish or even chicken breast. It really doesn’t matter as long as the ingredients are vibrant, fresh and healthy.
