Cancer Patient Room Renovations
When you support the Foundation of CVPH, you are helping people, funding programs, enhancing care and touching lives.
To enhance the care of our cancer patients at CVPH Medical Center, the eight patient rooms designated for our cancer patients will each be transformed as dollars are raised. The purpose of this project is to help our patients recover sooner by renovating these eight rooms to create a better healing environment.
As caregivers, we want to make sure that every patient has an exceptional experience and that we are making an unbearable situation better for them. Studies have shown that the right type of environment can greatly improve a patient’s ability to heal and recover from illness.
Listening to suggestions from our Cancer Patient Advisory Group, unit staff and through research, the project will include:
Once complete, we will have eight beautiful new rooms that will provide patients and their families with a more comfortable, home-like setting. By creating an atmosphere that promotes healing, we will reduce stress and its consequences on health; help reduce medical errors and hospital-acquired infections; and provide a happier place for our patients, their families and the staff caring for them.
- Warm paint colors for the walls
- Laminate wood flooring
- Corian counter tops and windowsills
- New blinds and window treatments that look like home
- A new wardrobe closet for patient belongings
- Colorful and comfortable quilts for each bed
- Flat-screen television
- Clock radio with ipod docking station for the patients favorite music
- A sleeper chair for a loved one to comfortably stay the night in
- Bedside computers for the staff to use for patient care

About the Foundation of CVPH Medical Center
The Foundation of CVPH Medical Center has been in existence since 1989 and subsequently has touched thousands of lives throughout the North Country. Its mission is to connect the generosity of a caring community with opportunities to promote health and wellness in partnership with CVPH Medical Center.Overseen by a 20-Member Board of Directors, the Foundation annually raises money to support community wellness initiatives like health care lectures, outreach and support for new health programs and travel funds as well as needs of the Medical Center above and beyond its daily operations.
